Be Healed, PT. 2

In the initial “Be Healed” blog, we discussed the fact that even with all the sicknesses and diseases that have plagued humanity for thousands of years, it is still God’s intention for our lives to be free from any form of illness. According to Psalm 103: 2-3, healing is God’s plan, it is for all problems, and it is for all people. If your condition is not in alignment with God’s covenant or compassion, it does not have to be your conclusion. You can BE HEALED! 1 Peter 2:24 says, “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” It is clear from this passage, that Jesus’ death on the cross paid for our sins and sicknesses. However, if we are going to Be Healed, there are a few additional truths that we must embrace.

1) The Past Tense of Healing – Healing is not something that we’re trying to get. It is something that we’ve already got. Romans 8:32 says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” When God gave us Jesus, healing was one of the things that He also freely gave to us as a part of the package. We’ve already got it! If we’re going to Be Healed, we must believe that we are healed, because the scripture says that we were healed. It is finished! You may not feel healed. You may still have symptoms. The test results may show that the problem still exists. But when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you received a divine deposit of everything necessary to live a God glorifying life; and that included healing! Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” It’s a done deal!

2) The Pathway to Healing – Healing is an established past tense fact. We were healed. But, if we are going to Be Healed, we must understand that the pathway to the manifestation of healing is not the same for everyone. Here’s an illustration: I am currently in Little Rock, AR. If I want to get to North Little Rock, AR., which was established over 150 years ago in 1871, there are at least 3 different routes or pathways that will get me there. I can take either one of them, and still end up in my desired location. When it comes to our healing, it was established through Jesus thousands of years ago, but there is a specific pathway or faith route that will lead us to the reality. In Mark 1:40-42, a man with leprosy received his healing when Jesus laid hands on him and spoke. In Luke 17:11-14, 10 lepers received their healing when they followed Jesus’ instructions to go show themselves to the priests. In each case, we see the same miracle, but 2 different methods of manifestation. Under the new covenant, healing is already ours, but there are different faith routes to receive. Because of this, our prayer should never be “God heal me.” But rather, “God direct me.” Show me the pathway (faith route/response) to what is already mine!

3) The Pitfalls of Healing – Yes, healing is an established past tense fact, but there are several factors that can hinder us from walking in manifestation. 1. Our Conscious – In Mark 6, Jesus couldn’t do any mighty works in His hometown, because of the people’s unbelief. Why? Because we receive at the level of our belief. 2. Our Choices – Some people won’t be healed because they chose not to be. Healing is God’s will, but He will not override our will. 3. Our Conduct – When we do things that we know God said not to do (disobedience) or when we don’t do the things that we know God said to do (disobedience), we give place to the devil, who is the author and initiator of all sickness and disease. 4. Our Confessions - Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”. One definition of the word power is hand.” So, what we say has a hand in what does or does not happen in our lives. If we’re going to Be Healed, we must make sure that what we say about us, is in alignment with what God has already said about us. We are the establishing witness, and Jesus said that we will have what we say!

In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Healing is a part of God’s good plan, and He hasn’t changed His mind. Lean into the plan of God for your life with prayer and faith and you will Be Healed, because you are already Healed!
